The Mills of Exeter is an exploration of the industries that developed around the Exeter and Squamscott Rivers. Lumber! Cotton! Wool! Muskets! Paper! Flour! Potato Starch! Gunpowder! In this online presentation, curator Barbara Rimkunas will tell a good story involving Exeter’s Dr. Perry, hundreds of tons of potatoes and an unfiled patent. And a fire that ended the town’s brief reign as the potato starch capital of the country. And there were also explosions. You won’t want to miss it.
This program is free and open to the public. To participate in the Zoom webinar (also at no cost), registration is required. You can register here.
