House & Garden Portrait Fundraising Program Update

Sandy_McDermott_Art_smUpdate on Sandy McDermott's Home & Garden Portrait Fundraising Program

We are very pleased to provide an update on the Home & Garden Portrait fundraising program that local artist Sandy McDermott has been running with the Exeter Historical Society.  If you will recall, back in the fall of 2008, Sandy offered to donate 15% of her Home & Garden commissions coming from any Exeter Historical Society member.  This "soft" fundraising program was officially kicked off at our annual holiday open house event in November, 2008.  Sandy's first commission under this program soon came from Martha Pennell.

Since then, Sandy has opened up the program to include commissions from non-members, as well.  This allowed the Exeter Historical Society to benefit even more from her beautiful art.  To date, Sandy has created paintings of three homes in Exeter, one out-of-state home and a pet portrait, raising over $476 for the Exeter Historical Society.  Attached is her most recent painting of an Exeter home.  This victorian home is the largest house painting she's created, 17 x 24", and was an anniversary gift that a husband and wife gave to each other.  Now considered an heirloom for the family they are raising, it hangs over the new fireplace in their home.

We would like to remind our members, many of you who own historical and otherwise beautiful homes, to consider having a painting done of your property or give the gift of a Home & Garden Portrait to a loved one.  You can contact sandy at 603-772-0761 or 603-380-0104.  Her email address is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
